Journey: Awana

Friday’s @ 7pm-9pm

Berea- Conference Room

At Berea Bible Church, friday nights are a very special night for us. It’s a night that our church has selected out the week to continue evangelistic and discipleship efforts among our youth.

Journey is the name of the class that ministers to highschool students. In Journey, we utilize the curriculum provided by AWANA YM and modify it to reach our particular students.

The Journey class will be undertaking this new and exciting study [Advocates] for the 2017/2018 school year. This study will be introducing our students to a very important facet of the christian faith: christian apologetics.

Awana YM has teamed up with the very competent and faithful christian apologist Sean McDowell, and have produced a 32 lesson curriculum aimed at introducing students to the world of christian apologetics.

Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil.”      1 Peter 3:14-17

At Berea Bible Church, the leadership has recognized that the academic and social environment that our youth are raised in today, is a highly intellectually polluted and depraved domain. We are certainly not wrestling with flesh and blood!

We are sincerely praying that this new study that focuses on the outworkings of apologetics, will both specifically deal with the errant presuppositions that many of our youth hold and strengthen/equip our youth to stand firm while holding solid biblical convictions-enabling them to make a defense for the hope that is in them.
